Stop WordPress sending “Some plugins were automatically updated”

There is a new feature in WordPress that allows you to feel the pain of being stalked by a robot.

So basically you went into Dashboard > Updates > Switch to automatic updates for maintenance and security releases only and you enabled this useful feature because life is too short to iron your underpants.

And then you didn’t stop the bonanza and you went straight to Plugins > Installed Plugins > Enable auto-update and you setup also this feature for all of them:

After few weeks your inbox is full of e-mails that updates you now and then about the updates going on.

You have two alternatives that will allows you to keep going with an hedonist lifestyle while enjoin the freedom of an empty inbox:

  1. Go to Appearance > Theme Editor > Theme Function (functions.php) and paste this block of code:
